OrandaMan is right. Artists do that. But it is still boring.

If it's boring to be able to copy and reproduce Takashi Amano's tanks then I wish I could be boring everyday of the week.

        You have your wish!

        (Sorry, couldn't help it.)
Trogdor was a man. Or maybe he was a dragon man. Or maybe he was just a dragon. But he was still TROGDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!

You know, fish are great. I love my fish. But what I really want is a monkey.

For me, I have to start out with absolutely no idea what I want to do. I just mush stuff around until I like it.

The fish don't care for this approach. For this reason I break it up into shorter projects.

I plan mine based on actual photos , then design them accordingly. They do not look like a NATURE AQUARIUM, but that is because they are FISH Aquariums. I am growing fish , not plants. I will say that Takashi's tanks and designs are beautiful. But they always have the same fish in them.

                Where is NICK?

You think he would pop-up in a conversation about out of place colorful barrels.

Everyone knows that barrels with barnacles and coral belong in a saltwater tank, not a tropical one. ;-)
Please remove it and put in a nice tall plant. You're confusing your fish!

OrandaMan - You shouldn't have said that... Now GapZero will want your ship to go with my barrel.

No. I got a separate tank for my office. That way I can keep a close eye on it during the day.

It is a 3 gallon eclipse. I plan to put 2 guppies in there and let them do there thing. When they breed and hatch I will move them to a bigger home.

Guppies are livebearers, so no hatching involved. Be ready to take the parents out after birth so the babies don't become lunch.

Oh... and my original pont for responding...

Guppies generally like a lot of room to swim (that guppy male is a Mac Daddy and he wants to pull off ALL his moves), so the three gallon may cramp their style too much. Put them in a regular tank, then when the female is nice and fat, give her the break she's been needing (trust me... he won't leave her alone even then) and take her to your other tank until the kids are born.
