Problems with a Fluval 403

I've sent two PM's to the person who sold me the Fluval and I know he has logged on since then. ATM, I'm not ready to say who it was that sold me the POS in the hopes he will try to either help me or compensate me.
If I give you his name it will only create drama.

I have 3 fluval 403 in my junk pile - all 3 have an impeller froze in the motor housing and I can't get them out. So I have a pile of parts, O-rings, clips, baskets, filter media, sponges, etc. I can bring anything you want to the HAS auction Sunday, just PM me.

Thanks for the advice. It really burns me up to be sold a POS by someone on here.

You can go to the hardware store or possibly a automotive parts store and see if you can't source one there.
Another option is dipping it in some hot water and then lubing it with silicone paste.
Fluvals are crap and normally sold cause of problems..... others are too much of crap to be sold and thrown away.

Problems with a Fluval 403
I bought a Fluval 403 filter off a fellow member for a future project of mine that ended up taking 5 months to complete. The filter sat in the corner this whole time and was never used but I was assured that it worked. I paid $75 for it.
I tried hooking it up and turning it on last week and it leaked from the O-Rings from the canister and both disconnects. Water all over my new, custom built cabinet.
I've PM'd the person I bought this from asking for help or compensation for selling me this POS but have not received a response. I stopped by the Fish Gallery and tried to get replacement O-rings but the guy said they were metric and needed to be special ordered. He also suggested I try lubricating the rings with Vaseline and see if that helped.
Where can I get repalcement O-rings and/or should I just try greasing up the existing rings?Tags: None
