    Re: 140 Discus Chronicles

Thanks once I get the other Discus in there I think it will look awesome. I think I want only three species in there.

              Re: 140 Discus Chronicles

I picked up some awesome Discus from Virginia today they have been in the tank for a couple of hours in the dark so they can get comfortable and not stress since that is a long trip to Magnolia for me. Thanks again Virginia for your time had fun visiting you. I will snap pics for you all to see probably tomorrow if they are doing ok I dont want to stress them out to much. But I am excited they are huge. They make my guys in the pics looks like midgets. So offense to vertically challenged individuals out there.

So glad you are pleased,  know I have enjoyed them..

The other Discus settling and most of thier tank planted - need to add some branch type wood still.    Ocats are moved to Discus tank & the bzillon green tetras &  school of cories..

Altums are moved & never lost thier color but  remaining tetras in there will have to swim quick till I can figure a way to round them up.   Didn't even snag one by accident !

Here are the pics. They are still really freaked by the change in scenery. I have to move very slowly so that they dont freak and swim to the other side running into things.

They all got there colors back so they are slowly getting used to it but I am sure the whole no back wall of the tank thing will take them some time to get used to. The rainbow fish seem to like the annubias you gave me Virginia. I have it floating at the top right now until the Discus get comfortable enough for me to get into the tank and start tying them down to the wood

                          Re: 140 Discus Chronicles

I'm not so sure if this set-up will work for discus. It's been my experience that discus need a place to retreat. In there a lot of movement in this area? You just might stress them out totally. Let us know what happens. Are they feeding okay?

                          Good Luck nice looking tank!

I guess that depends on who you ask. Like everything else there seems to be differing opinions but I have done a lot of research in into this tank and I think or at least hope that I will be able to provide them with the right ingridients to make a comfortable home for them.

you have done extremely well on this tank......excellent job.....
don't worry they will settle and get used to the movement around them....
my 6 discus used to be very skiddish when i first got them....but i assure you they are very very tamed now......when i walk by the tank they think it's time to eat and they all come to the front.....and look out when i put blood worms in there....they go nutz....they eat out of my hand....and they nudge my fingers food or no food.....in other words they allow me to pet them any time i want.....
so they will come around for you i assure you.....
but those are gorgeous fish.....dang V.....maybe i need to come pay you a visit???.....
