yeah I would do 3 water changes a week usually about 40% of the water which isn't really alot compared to some people that change around 80% of the water but I've had good results with my routine I just hate to go let such beautiful fish go but we do what we have to to keep the kids entertained and engaged

I only have 2 right now in a 55 gal aquarium. I wanted to make sure I could pull it off and keep these guys alive before I added more. So far so good. I have had them for about a week now and have done 1 50%water change thus far. I have a pretty good flow on my Fluval and it keeps the water turned over pretty well. Temp is right at 88 degrees. And lighting is a 50/50 light which helps bring out their pretty color. I wish I could post a photo but it will not let me with my iPad. I have a course sand substrate with plenty of rocks and cover along with several artificial plants to make them feel at home. They are eating beef heart and a little blood worm and seem to enjoy it.

not to much on the blood worms I feed mine beef heart brine shrimp glass worms nls discus formula and once a month I give them blood worms oh and how big are they? you want to try to stay away from putting 6 or 7 inch fish in the same tank with like 2 or 3 inch fish but other than that seems like you have a good start did you buy them as a pair or did you just get lucky

There are about 3 to 3.5 inches. I only give them the bloodworms (just a dab) a couple times a week.. Kind of like a treat. They seem to love the beef heart most of all. I have not tried the NLS discus food, my other cichlids love it though and it really brings out their colors. I got them as a pair, I do not think they have bred in the past yet but I am hoping they do later on. I would like to get a few more later on to perhaps better my chance on them breeding.

The photos really do not do them justice, their colors are very pretty in person.

I will try and get some photos with my good camera and upload them with my laptop. Photos taken with my Ipad do not come out as well as they do with my camera.
