Brian, you might want to invest in one of those (or three) plastic razor blade holders. They really help lessen the pain after a few hours of scraping. Trust me. :)

Yeah there is more patience needed than I have. I went to Home depot and bought to large paint scrapers. I tried the hair dryer last night and it made it easier but not much quicker because you have to hold it in the spot to heat it up and then your hands and blade gets hot. So I figure with the paint scraper my hands will be further from the heat. By the way does anyone know where I can get an Eheim shut off valve for the intake of a 2262? Went by fishranch and no luck

Try a product called "Goo Gone".

If this doesn't work call Binswanger glass and ask them about what might work.

In my shop we use engine starter fluid to remove paint pen markings from pelican cases. Don't think I would try it in the house or on an aquarium though.

I was thinking about getting a ball valve from Home Depot and running that in.

Go the route of mgarrido... Home depot it and buy it for 1/2 - 1/3 the cost. If its the big hose line you need to do its going to cost you nearly $80 for that one set.. its simply cheaper to goto home depot and buying that setup there.

Made my shut off valves and finished the back. I bought 2 paint scrapers and my friend helped and it took 2 hours to finish the rest. I have 2 problems now. (1) I forgot to soak the manzanita wood and now its floating in my tank and (2) I have to much flow from the wet/dry. The water flow went to the other side of the tank and down the wall and back across the ground and made all my plants lean over and most eventually uprooted. I tried adjusting the nozzle to point to the front glass so we will see if that works.
