Beautiful set-up and discus!!!!!!!!!!!! Almost makes me want to go back to discus. I bought Mike's (the original owner of Village Trop Fish) 10 foot discus tank several years ago and set it up with discus and plants. What helped me get the tea color water was african root.......it's expensive though but works great. Also added the peat in my eheims. Used a product called Black Water Extract by Tetra I think and it all helped with my discus colors.

Update. The discus have been really personable lately. They will come to the glass when I walk up begging for food so of course I have to give them snacks. They love the BW snacks and will even eat the floating BW at the top. I have never seen them do this only domestics.Comment

Will take some pics soon. The discus that had the issue now has eye cloud so I was treating with just WC and salt but not getting better so I put him on Triple Sulfa hope that helps. I got a new Lumatek ballast that I replaced the PFO ballast so I can save some space and reduce electricity usage since they are not as efficient as the Lumatek and others and I found the Lumatek on craigslist for $100. i bought some 10K bulbs to make the light better especially for the plants since the ones that came with the fixture are the 20K and are to blue for this tank.Comment
