Hah... hardly... i'm just an obsessed bum....Must be a Pro to breed them!
Well... unofficially these are called "Tangerines" but discus names have little meaning nowadays. Everybody is naming their discus whatever they want. But officially they are Pigeon Bloods that have the striations bred out of the main body.what is the name of that discus the colors are so nice and bright. Will you be selling some of the fry i might be interested.
Sure they're for sale. I usually let them go at any point after they reach 1.5" and are eating well.
Well... they don't pay me enough at work. So i have to work hard to keep fed. One spawn like this will probably enable me to buy a couple of boxes of ramen noodles. Should keep me fed for a couple months.I was impressed with your own deligence to the process, seems you did as much work as the parents
Actually i keep Rush Limbaugh on... i figure they'll either want to commit suicide or will induce labor.....hahDo you play Barry Manilow 24/7 or what?Last edited by nacra99; 09-18-2009, 01:29 PM.

Sure... i can send him over and give your turq a pep talk....lolOriginally posted by wesleydnunder View PostAwesome pics, man. I need you to get your male to talk to my male turq. He and his mate have spawned a dozen times and the male seems to think it's his personal snack...grrrr.

Well.. you can do like what Zulaab said and remove the offending male if he is eating the fry.
If they are eating the eggs BEFORE hatching. Try a wire screen over the eggs so that the parents can still fan the eggs but keep them from eating them. Usually by the time the eggs hatch, the parents will have bonded and not eat them. I use plastic gutter screens from home depot.
Good luck!

WOW. This might be the coolest thread I've ever read here at HFB. Everyone be sure to rate this one four stars at the top.
Nacra, thank you for sharing. You can be modest all you want, but breeding Discus is no easy feat - yet you've made it seem just that. Again, thanks for sharing!Experiencing an aquatic renaissance!
