What would be a good tank mate for a FlowerHorn?

Never seen many successes in finding tankmates, but I think it might be plausible with enough caveats. Most folks I see go with plecos and fail, think you need a larger more aggressive catfish that is a bit more familiar and normalized to their CA ancestors behaviors. Were it me and I wanted to try something, I'd consider a Rhamdia sp., or going toward some similar species from SA like the Graceful Pimelod or Four Lined Pictus. Another idea is something so large and covered in spines it is avoided like something in the Megalodoras genus like the irwini or uranoscopus

I'm thinking an arowana would get along well with him, but in time the 72g bow front will be too small for an arowana. Maybe I will try a female FH and see how that works out.

IME, when the FH is not the dominant fish, things are easier on all the other fish. In the past, I've successful kept FHs in a tank where a jardini and clown knife were the dominant fish. It was a 7' tank...

I dropped 2 BN about 3"-4" and they seem to disappear. I thought the FH snack them for lunch, but they scare $hitless and were in hiding the whole time. I just saw them last night under a rock.

This lady made my day... She's behind the rock! The FH leave her alone for now.

I also have 2 african catfish similar in size with FH in there, and so far so good.
