  • Lookjing for female german blue rams

T&T got a dozen blue rams in, and I'm pretty darn sure they were all males! And gorgeous, too! I bought some, but am now looking for more some nice females. If anyone has any, or knows where I can find some, please let me know!

I'd like to get two pairs in my tank.

ETA - Sorry about the misspelling in the title. :)

Thanks! That's pretty far from me, but if I don't find any closer, I'll check there tomorrow!

Well, I stopped at Fish Gallery on my way back from Kingwood, and they had about 20 beautiful GBRs - all male, too! They weren't quite as large as the ones from T&T, but still a very nice size.

Thought I'd mention that Fishland on Wertheimer had a tankful of the balloon rams last week. Although I'm not a big fan, they were very nice and colorful. I didn't look long enough to determine the sex.

I just bought a GBR from FG, when I put him in my tank he just went to hide in the plants, it's been about 3 hours in the same spot, is this common for them to do this? He is the only fish in the tank right now.

Yes, it's very common. It might take him a few days to settle in. What else are you putting in the tank?

Some white clouds, and another type of schooling fish. I'm just adding them little at a time. should I get a female ram? Or 2 males? I heard keeping a male and a female will make them more colorful? Is that true?

That's a much nicer setup than what I have. Very nice. Yeah, I would keep him with a female, if possible. If your water conditions are not perfect, the eggs will never make it to "fry," but you'll still get to see some interesting behaviors.

Your tank is nicer than mine because I don't have real plants in my tank. I'm planning on growing some plants in a 10 gallon that I have for future use in a larger tank. My goal is two 40G (breeder size) to keep south american cichlids. I'm short, so I will have a much easier time cleaning and tending a "shorter" tank without dripping water everywhere. :)

Lol I know what you mean, well. I'll see how this guy does and then I'll try to find him a female.

I have a 40breeder set up for sale man.
