  • New Plumbing forBig Tank

I first set this tank up with a slate bottom. The filters inlet setup to sweep across the slate and it's outlet pulling the waste on the other side. The setup works great and keeps the slate very clean.

When I started keeping Geophagus. I added black sand to the tank. The Geo's love it but my pumps? Not so much. Now every time in clean my sump. It has 10lbs of sand in it. I'm pretty sure that's what killed one pump already.
this weekend I am tarring out all the old plumbing and replacing it with an overflow setup.
thank you to johnnymisty for the overflow box.

Thanks Hung. This tank won't change as far as the look. It does have Tapajos now. Ones I'm finished with the plumbing. I will post up some new pictures.

Nice Troy. I enjoy the mechanical side and appreciate it when people like yourself share your experience

The new plumbing is in. It took longer for the glue to dry then to hook it all up.
