The girl at my Petsmart advised me not to get a common Pleco as it "will get too big eventually and wont do much to eat algae when its big and cant move." Some of them do care and try thankfully.

I was looking for an albino pleco at the time when she told me that too. You see it in all depts, lizards packed into a tiny space with no good lighting. Poor ******** sold with metabolic bone disease.

Still looking for HRP? I have several breeder pairs from TUIC.

I don't come online much but I keep several types of CA's. Nanoluteus, Myrnae, Maculipinnis and spilurus just to name a few. YouTube link below just to show some of my collection

I have found a few people at petsmart who do know a good amount. There are a few that give good advice.

As for your albino pleco search...last time I was at Homeless Aquatics there was a whole tank of long fin albinos, about 2-3" size. Send a private message to double check, his handle on the Box is "armthehomeless"

Yes one of them i was thinking of is at that store. I think her name is Meghan, so I normally wait for her if I can. I dont know her handle on here, but I was speaking with her a few days ago about the Box and things I got at Homeless Aquatics (and she mentioned you by name troy). said she used to be on the Box but had not been active for a little while.

Gotcha, it'll take awhile to figure out who owns, breeds, sells whatever etc.

I always did my trade ins as a case by case basis..I had alot of regulars who would by small specialized cichlids , grow them out and want to trade them in. So i would take them.I also had people i didn't know that had nice fish but also people that had starved or stunted or sick fish..which i had to turn down.
All i'm saying is it would be nice to have an option.
If you don't take trades you shouldn't take donations.

Yup. I wouldn't take donations either. Waste of space. Some people just can't turn down free.

Homeless Aquatics has a website with stocklist. For more up to date stocklist, there's a sticky thread in the Homeless Aquatics retailer section.

However is their anyone[store or private] that tends to sell pike cichlids?
I know Mike's old store had a few but i don't really remember seeing anyone else carry them.

Xtreme fish n pets gets pikes often. He brought in a Atabapo II pike a long while back and some spotted pikes. As I said in a previous post, Xtreme often carries CA/SA fish. Best shop for oddballs like eels, pikes, anableps, uncommon plecos, etc.

If you get a chance, talk to Truong (I think that's his name, skinny guy with funny lookin hair), the store owner. He can do special orders if you want. Let him know you're trying to find pikes and he'll let you know what he can get.

Yep, that's his name. And he does do special orders if he can find the stock! Call first before you go cuz he is not always there.
