Original plans were just to keep the tank free of plants, but I couldn't help myself since I had a jar full of subwassertang and a bucket of corkscrew val. The overflow idea was to keep the protein layer away. I made it from cross stitching grid and a cracker storage container from The Container Store that I had bought a while back.

Here's a video of the inside of the overflow. It's silent. The noise is from the water level being low on the tank next to it.

Update from the 22nd. Sorry for the cheesy music again. I was trying to catch the cories schooling in mid water and was recording from my gf's iphone5. I didn't know how to mute the sound.

Easy to make. Just need a drill, zip ties, some cross stitch grid and the cracker box. Total cost for materials is about $5-8 I thinkComment

I need to cull these cherry shrimp. Too many low grades in there. Only one of them are PFR. After I toss about 10-15 culls into another tank, I'll start posting up the culls for free.Comment

when you do that let me know. i have a co-worker that wants a shrimp tank. but mine arent reproducing fast enought. i just discover that my sponge filter is to strong and when they dumbo shrimps get in the bubbles they jump out. and its a open top bow front.75g Tank,

If that was the case, why don't you put a top on it? Adding more shrimp will probably end up doing the same thing.

its a mr. aqua tank. to top for it. no glass shop wants to cut me a special shape. mainly for the space for the filter and air hose. i have lost 15 shrimps.75g Tank,

Remove the sponge filter and put a canister in there or lower the water level.Comment
