I'm afraid convicts may be too small.. The pbass will eat anything smaller than 3". It's funny that even though I say this, I have a dat that hasn't been eaten yet.

Oh and I have a wc endlicheri that seems to eat little things when I'm not looking! The breeding idea would be nice though! Endless supply of treats for my fish!

We always caught the big ones during the summer but I cant remember when I would see them in the ditches. I just remember there was a certain plant in the ditch and there hasnt been enough standing water for it to grow. Maybe a rotala of some sort.

TPWD says they spawn in late spring and can grow a foot in a year. If thats true and I catch them about 3-4 inches then the end of summer, correct??

Sounds about right? Not trying to get one too big since my fish are still growing and I wouldn't want them to become food
