  • Amphilophus "Red Isletas" ; Barred Redhead Midas

I bought 2 juvie pairs of these guys awhile back; pretty hard to come by. It's just as hard to find good info on them - has anyone kept these/have experience with them? Thanks so much.
    Thanks so much,
    Lydia

Have a look at South American Cichlid Keepers!
There are a few Midas keepers on that post.

I would think any information you can find for regular Midas (Amphilophus citrinellus) with regards to size, behavior, care would apply. I've kept a similar species (A. amarillo). I had a 6' 120-g set aside for an adult pair, but I ended up moving when they were just a few inches, and I had to pass them along to someone else.
Tell your boss you need to go home to take care of your "cichlids." It sounds an awful lot like "sick kids." )

Thanks guys, these are really interesting fish so far and exited to watch them color up. I am hoping I have 2 pair, but too soon to tell.
        Thanks so much,
