New Female Convict

yeah, it really is as simple as 'just add water' as long as you've a male and female with the convicts. Both of my males are smaller than the females too. I read a few places people say that females typically won't pair up with smaller males... but when it's their only option they don't seem to care. lol If you see ANY orange on the belly/side of any of them that's a female. Even the -slightest- orange. that's what I've observed so far. =) they show this color around 2", if not sooner.

Well I've definitely got two female convicts. Maybe three. The fire mouths will be more difficult to sex from what I've read. Sometimes there's differences that can be seen other times they can be almost identical. Thanks for the info! Look forward to more pics.

Sometimes the females will pair up and go through the motions, even laying eggs and guarding them. obviously they won't hatch though. lol

Got 4 female convicts. Not a male in the bunch apparently.

Fish and Pets ranch By Almeda Mall had a whole bunch of males last time I was there, all breeding size. Just call and check I bet they still have some. =)

I've an extra female, but both the males are taken XD lol

I here ya. Yeah I went there last week. Interesting place, needs more light. Very poorly lit. Huge gourami!

Yeah it could use more light I agree. But they want to move to a new location, they were robbed like twice within a month recently.

I heard that. That's terrible. Hopefully they can move soon to a better location that will do better for business and the security of there assets.
