Can you guys help indentify this cichlid? I caught it in a bayou near where I live.

Probably some kind of perch?

Normally see Texas cichlids but that looks a bit off

from pics its hard to tell but I would say its a type of sun fish (often called perch). theres alot of different species in texas waters I cant tell from the pic which one you have. check out the family centrarchidae.

I'm gonna bet on a hybrid/crossbreed of Texas cichlid and perch have seen and caught quite a few of these. Hard to tell from pic, but it's either that or a variation of a perch( blue gill, sun perch, etc.)

its a young tilapia.....caught many of those before.....
