  • Blood Parrot is swimming irratically, upside down and on it's side!

I have had my 350G set up for well over 2 years and have NEVER had any water problems let alone lose any fish. My blood parrots have always been healthy and I just walked past the tank and noticed one is a little pale, its fins are looking a little raggedy (only way to explain it) either way, the fins are not healthy looking. Almost like the slime is comiong off. And the fish is floating upside down on the bottom of the tank. He does have labored breathing. What can this be? All of the other fish are healthy and swimming fine. Any ideas as to what I can do try and save this fish? I have had my parrots for almost 6 years. I would hate to lose one now :(

Sorry but it sounds like he has a swim bladder issue along with other thing wrong with him. If he looks as bad a you describe I would get him out of the tank cause aggression seems to be the issue. Put him in a small tank to recover but IMO if he is upside down put him in a bag of water in the freezer and let him fall asleep and die he will not feel a thing

Well, since I posted this earlier, he is right side up and swimming like nothing is wrong, his fins still look a little funky and he is still pale. any idea what this could be? How should I treat it? As far as aggression from the other fish, there isn't any. They all leave each other alone. His fins aren't being bitten as some fish do to others, they just look a little thin..IDK how to really describe his fins. Ican post a pic if that would help. But, not sure if you will be able to see much.
