Do any boxers currently keep German or Bolivian Rams? How difficult are they to keep and what parameters do you currently keep them in? I'm thinking about adding 4 German blue rams in a 55g planted tank with some other community fish. I don't want to use RO if I don't have to and I've been doing a 50% water change each week with just tap and prime. Will they be ok? I've read some Internet articles but I wanted some opinions from local keepers. Thanks for any input

I just picked up some variant of the blue ram species. They went in the tank today. It took a long time to acclimate them because I read about their sensitivity towards rapid changes in ph and water hardness. I hope the plants in the tank help them settle.Chef~PIER 61 SEAFOOD

New eggs
First clutch in my tank. The eggs were gone after 36 hours or so. They laid again last night. They are in a 120 with a community of tetras and discus. So I dont think I will mess with them. But their colors are gorgeous the day before and day of laying.Last edited by Tetranerd; 07-30-2011, 11:14 AM.

So far my Bolivian Rams have kept their fry safe for 2-3 days- very protective of them and the fry know to stay under mom/dad.
It's a mixed tank with Discus/tetras/bn plecos

I liken the Rams to what I consider the most perfect car ever built.. The 57 T-bird..beautiful lines.. perfect sizing.. I lost a clutch of 5 GBR's due to inattention.. Next on my mission list is a 33L(got the tank, not the room!) for Apisto's and Rams.. Bill in Va.
