GT growth rate

Okay so i been having my gt since thanksgiving, and moved him into a 55 gal like late december.. and he's barely grown ever since.. do they just grow extra slow? i feed them bloodworms and tetracolor... and is housed with a firemouth and jack dempsey, all relatively the same size about 3 inches

I don't know what is wrong with yours but the ones i had grew almost as fast ad my oscars.

that is fast... well maybe i think it has something to do with the one night i came home from work and i found him on the floor, all extra dried up. So i put him back in the water, and after 1 minute he started moving and kicking again..

it really depends on what kind of gt you have aswell....I believe officially from what Ive read on books and seen on the web there are 3 kinds and other similar subs....

How often are you doing water changes? That could affect the growth rate. Did you get him from an LFS?

mine must be the slow growing one haha, but he can stand his own ground though if the bigger firemouth tries anything..... I'm doing water changes roughly once a week, so busy with school and work and the girl.. dont want to sound like a noob, but what is LFS?? is it licenced fish store?... I got him from fish and pets over on southwest side

if you want to talk about slow growth rate my EBJD have only grown 3 " in 5 months.

oh mann.. and i barely picked up a EBJD today, little tiny fellow, not even an inch
