Severum ?s

I picked up a huge green sev from fishland yesterday. this big boy is easily 9" long and nearly as high. he's missing a some scaled so I'm treating the entire tank with melafix and he pretty much is hiding all of the time right now, which I read is normal for a new severum. any suggestions to make him feel at home?

dont freak out...but severums actually "sleep" different from other fish. I used to keep them, and at one point one was nearly upside down with the lights off in the tank...I turned the lights on and in like 3minutes he was up and swimming around again! Just give him cover and he should be fine in no time. once comfortable...you can feed them a bunch of fresh vegetables shaved up really small. I used to give mine carrots, lettuce, and baby spinach leaves....all shaved up

he's pretty much had one specific spot staked out and he stays there only coming out occasionally, i read that most severums hide a lot when first introduced to a new aquarium, he does have several nicks and missing scales and a few slightly shredded fins, which is probably why he was only $20. I don't have a quarantine tank so I've been treating the entire tank w/ melafix, this won't be a problem for my other fish will it? I don't think so but better safe to ask
