What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

Thanks for sharing and all the pics. Where did you get your livestock, and what inspired you to paint the back that color?

I just wanted something different and more dynamic than the usual light blue discus background....I need to get some better pics up, although its just so different in person. You dont really get to see the little details or experience the grand scale of tbe scene.

I actually did a lot of research on colors and backgrounds, looking all over the net and spending hours researching on simplydiscus.com. I originally bought seafoam green which is a light mint green, but changed my mind and took the plunge with the watermelon pink. The other major key is the lighting....I have four different bulbs in that fixture....makes a huge difference in the colors, accents and shadows.

I want a Nikon D300s for Christmas, maybe I can convince the wife to get it for me early so I can get some good pics up.

Livestock, tank, stand, sand and wood is all through HAW....infact this entire project was made possible through their help and excellent prices. I guess you could say this tank is sponsered in part by Houston Aquarium Warehouse....!

Thanks...I took some of your advice and did a little trimming on the wood....opened up a few tight areas in the middle and made a little more space overall. The seem to love exploring all around the branches, looking and pecking as they swim through them.

                      Brazilian Pennywort, hydrocotyle leucocephala

Yes it floats...I had to submerge it because when I didnt have fish I realized some mosquitos were trying to setup a base of operations on it. Ill probably float it again.

Its an excellent plant...very hardy, fast growing, and drinks nutrients directly from the water column.
