i cut the silicone on the insde of the tank, under the trim, and then i got a very strudy knife with a faily thin blade, and wedged it up underneath the trim on the outside of the tank, and drug the knife along, this weakened the seal good enough to then use the knife to sort of pry the molding off.
then once i had the piece loosened to where i could get my hand underneath it somewhat, i just slowly pulled and worked my way down while pulling the trim, and it peeled off.
then you just use a razor blade and clean off the excess silicone.
