I know it looks like a lot of food laying on the bottom, but this was taken right after I fed them and I can assure you these guys and the shrimp make short work of it.
I had the shrimp in first, and when I put the puffers in they kinda went for the shrimp. And to my surprise the little guy bowed up and threw his claws up in defense and the puffers backed off quick. No issues since.
Currently has 2 puffer, 3 ottos (who I plan to take out), and a few ghost shrimp (which I also plan to take out)
The two puffers definitely don't get along and the dominant one is constantly chasing the other one, pretty cool to watch
Thinking about trying to grow a cherry shrimp colony...
Worried that I'm a bit overstocked.... Especially once I start growing the cherry shrimp... I'm also having a hard time growing algea for the ottos and they don't seem to want to eat the wafers that I drop in for them...
If the inhabitants don't kill each other you should be fine. You may want to up your filter game. But it may be enough. But without a way to pre filter that internal you may have a death trap for your future shrimp. I lost a few cherries to my old internal.
