anyone how to make a surface skimmer you can hook up to a canister i keep getting that oragnic waster on the top of my tank even with weekly water changes or know anyother method to get rid of it without sacrificing co2

tried even with that its like the waer movement doesnt break the surface the film is to thick

Im not sure but would an overflow box work ? somebody help me out here i dont use canisters.

You want minimal surface break in a planted tank.

Eheim sells the surface extractor that will attach to the intake side of your canister and I believe you can adjust where it intakes and how much.

You can get the china knockoff on ebay or I think fish ranch II has it in stock.

Either that or if you need to make it a simple pvc sealed at the bottom and teeth cut up top will work.....just make sure you fine tune it to not starve but function.

or u can hook ur intake tube to a half cut off pepsi plastic bottle stuffed with sponge if you want... and just leave it right under the surface...
