Beth777 - like troy said, Aquarium Design Group. They have a section under the vendors forum on here.

You can add plants immediately. No need to wait.

Thanks guys, I'll check them out. If I see that I actually have a chance of not killing them real quick I might would be willing to add flourish or root tabs, something to help them grow. I just don't want it to turn into a big chore.

You can get also some pretty decent low light, low maint crypts and anubias from most Pestmarts now. The topfin ones

They are like $8-10, but you get a decent amount of plants. I picked up a few crypts from them a while ago, doing very well in the tank.

Do they actually come in "pet carrier" packaging? There's a Petco & a Petsmart within fairly easy driving distance from me, but the Petco is on a street I frequent more, so I rarely go to Petsmart.

They always seem, to me, to carry about the same range & quality of stuff, but Petsmart charges more for their's...

Oh yes, to the OP: I've had good luck ordering from "extraplant" on ebay. It's a Florida outfit that uses water similar to what we have here in Harris Co., so there's no finicky acclimations (much) with ordered plants. Their prices are just a tad higher than the ebay sellers who just want to sell you a handful of overgrowth from their tanks (not bad if you get someone good... terrible otherwise). Still they combine orders, though they do charge an extra $1.75 for each added plant. Orders $88 & up are free shipping while they run that promotional. They take care to package your order nicely and ship expedited or higher within a day or two of receiving your payment. Add a note to order asking for cool/ice pack & they include it for nominal fee.

I've had all plants arrive healthy & well even when I ordered at the start of summer, but it's a chancy buisness at that time of year & gets worse as temps climb.

Still, keep them in mind as a decent seller... They have a nice range of plants, including some I've never seen in the local LFSs.

Of course this is just my experience, no guarantees that anyone else's would be the same.

Kaytlu - I've shopped with extraplant too. The last set barely made it, and that was about 3 weeks ago. Good seller though, and the later delivery wasn't their fault.

Yes - the petsmart plants come in that exact packaging.

Just did a search for extraplant on ebay and am now following them. Thank all of you for the great advice. I'm pretty anxious to try plants AGAIN. lol Especially since it can make tank maintenance easier. Because of heat maybe I'm better off buying local for now.

Extraplants is doing a buy 3 get one free if any of you are interested.

I do like the way petsmart packages their plants. Started to try some plants from a local LFS recently but noticed some fish swimming around them that had ick.

I think I might have 2 petcos closer to me than the petsmart. I'll have to check them out and see what I find. I need to get some plants into the 10gal on that white sand so that I don't constantly see snail poo. LOL

You might want to give aqua bid a shot that's normally where I get plants from and most sellers are in the states
