  • New Planted 55g

First off a big hello and thank you to all the people on fish box! Your help and insight made the setup alot easier!

Have not entirely figured out stocking but working in the right direction.

Lighting is a little weak, went with a Marineland Double Bright LED but its not going to work. Ordered another specifically for planted tanks...Anyone want a almost new LED?

Looks nice! A couple tips... When I started my first planted tank, I didn't plant heavily enough. I think you could add many more to start. Also, the sooner you add livestock, the sooner the plants will have a steady nitrogen source for growth.

Keep us posted on the progress! Once you get more light and some fish in there, it'll be nice to see how those plants grow. :)

Lol. Welcome to the box! Definitely add more plants! Too bad you just missed out of our group buy for plants. Hopefully you're getting a huge box full of plants for $150!

It looks nice with the added plants. A lot more filled in on that left side. The livestock will definitely help kick off the cycle. Is that a 3D background?

Very nice layout, I have a feeling it will fill in very nicely. What LED array are you using? It reminds me of the the 3w EVO. Just wondered if that was it to have a good idea what it looks like in an actual tank.

Its the Marineland LED fixture for planted tanks...jury is still out on how it grows plants...nice modern look to it though and I really like the built in timer.

                            Universal Rocks 3d Background

I had to trim it a bit to make it fit but that was rather easy to do and I used the trimmings to camo the intake tube and return. Siliconed it in, waited 4 days (just to be sure, its humid here) and started to fill up the tank. So far I'm liking it.

I think next I'll be heading to HAW to check out some fish!

did you bury the rhizome of the anubias if so you should probably attach it to the wood or rocks
