Very nice looking tank, love the scape. How'd the wife take it? I see it didn't mysteriously get broken yet, so it must be okay.
Looking forward to updates!
Sorry for the late reply, well she didnt let me put it where I wanted but thats ok, I put it in my den. my only problem is that there is no a/c. So im trying to figure out how to keep it cool during the summer which is already over but still hot. I have a window unit but I only turn it on when Im home, I have been using frozen 20oz coke bottles, but they last maybe 30 minutes? I might give a 2 liter a test.
She said she likes it but just doesnt like it where I wanted, but she still comes back here and looks at it.
I honestly like how simple this set up is turning out really nice.
Also, does anyone think 10k and 18k t5 bulbs on a tank with no CO2 is a little overkill? That's what I have on my 12g long.

Thanks, Im not to sure about your question, I thought I was running a 10k and a 6k on my set up, turns out im running 2-10k bulbs.
I'll get some updated pics later, not much has changed except I ran out of co2. I picked up some paintball co2 cartridges that didn't fit to well with the fluval regulator, so I wasted them lol.
Whats the name of the liquid co2 stuff? I know I saw it at CP but cant remember the name.
I just got my excel in yesterday after a week with out co2. Everything armed to perk up a little.
Question, does anyone run their planted tanks with lids? I'm having a problem keeping heat on with out the lid. Input the lid on and put the light directly on top of it instead of having the legs on.
When dosing Excel follow the instructions and dose daily for the best results in the morning just after the lights come on.
Most of our planted tanks have lids, it should be fine. We use 1" PVC cuttings to prop up our T5's on our Vivariums to dissapate some of the excess heat. Our issue is evaporation, especially in soft water tanks and tanks with excessive lighting. Our 10 gallon and Ebi can go through water crazy fast. If you are setting it directly on the glass you should be fine. If its plexiglass I might worry about it melting. You might try a larger heater or an additional smaller one to help it with its workload. With the light on it should do half the work already...
