Yup. Both are similar in what they do so it wouldn't really matter either way

If your doing a planted tank you should really try ADA aquasoil, it will make a big difference in your plant growth, it outperforms eco complete without a doubt. Although eco complete is good and you can grow just about anything in it but aquasoil works better.

Alright so i moved on the beginning stuff, Got Eco-complete for too good of a deal from fellow HBF member CrazyCatPeekin 10 bucks for all the strate i need for my 29gallon, i found some 6700k, 10k bulbs online so i nabbed them as-well. I did a-lot of research on pump ideas and i found that cobalt 1200 is the original owners badass design of the maxijets before they got bought out and turned into crap (or something along those lines) nabbed it on amazon for cheap, got both filter medias for S&G rather be over prepared then under, purigen, and a safe paintball co2 system with diffuser and glass checker, upgraded to silenx fans. Found a thread for a DIY auto doser for my ferts that'll cost me about 40 bucks, so looks like im still in need of hardscape / media rack,

i did however damage my top right filter grate so i could add another pump to get better water circulation for my SW, anyone know a neat way to fix it?

also im trying to breed CRS in this tank so any suggestions on how to keep the PH at a stable consistant level? I know you can add certain natural items to increase or decrease PH like peatmoss and certain leaves but anything to keep it constant?

Just remember on your auto doser don't mix your phosphates and iron in the same container.

to keep it contant be sure to add things that buffer both acidity and alkalinity. this is especially important if you dose CO2 since this will eventually deplete the calcuim carbonate that in naturally in the water and drop the pH. I use seachem acid and alkaline buffer powders along with indian almond leaves. shrimp love to eat these leaves btw.

Get them shipped from another person or buy from someone here who has them. I don't think LFS carry IAL. You could also try alder cones (similar effect as IAL, just in a shape of a tiny pine cone thing), but you'd have to go through the same thing as IAL to get them.
