  • Wild Plant IDs?

Anyone ever harvest wild plants from neighboring lakes and plant them? I found some plants the other day on a small lake near Lake Livingston and was wondering if anyone has any idea what they are. I also posted a thread on TPT, but wanted to see if anyone here happened to know.

First picture -- The plant in front (not s. repens) found it in the state that it is in now submersed.

Second picture - This plant shot up tons of small lily type extensions from a root system, awesome looking plant in the wild. The nodes are really far from each other, but lake conditions are generally pretty bad. This thing should thicken up, I think, in a nutrient rich aquarium... Second day in and its already showing offshoots.

I also found tons of Bacopa, not sure which species, along many small lakes. Didn't grab any though. Any help would be great, thanks!

P.S. excuse the GSA on my glass, I don't really clean my glass

The second pic looks like Bacopa rotundifolia (not 100% sure). If it is, it will remain leggy until it hits the surface, where it will sprawl out on the water surface in a dense mat.

I can't tell on the first one. Were there any emersed of that plant...possibly with blooms?

I did not see many flowering plants, but perhaps that had to do with the season. Well, I'm just going to let these grow out, and hopefully they work out where I put them!
