You got your order of soil already? Or is that old substrate?

Just some critism... with the rock layout maybe ditch the two focal points idea and go with a single.

Nah this came with this tank.

Imma try to use the old sub on the other tank n try it. My plastic bag method works pretty good when fillin it up! Lol

Yeh I was thinking same thing. Just wanna leave it for now n see if the plants will actually GROW! Haha

1st try at a planted, and you go with a high tech tank. co2 and everything.

good luck. it is looking nice.

I like it. It has the rocky crag kinda look to it. I think aquascapers often get caught up in the right and wrong ways to do things since there seems to be so many rules these days. It should be about what feels right. I like the valley in between the rocks since u could refocus attention into the middle to a specimen plant like a big red sword or a Madagascar lace. It's always a work in progress.

With co2 you may need more light. I haven't grown hc but I have read that it might want more.

yeh i was trying to for a valley with just these rocks i had and it looked ok to me but then i got this good size portion from a member and i had no where else to put it but the middle so it kinda "took away" that valley look.

i have a 36 watt fixture coming but thats going on my other tank so im going to see if i can get away with this for now..

any tank with a co2 is not a low tech tank. mine is a low tech.
