Haha, you guys...
Thanks, though, Randall! So far your nerites are doing a fine job, and a few will probably be transferred to this tank soon.

Thanks. :)Originally posted by TheOldMan View PostIf I remember right it was an ADA DoAqua tank. The block is like a quick disconnect. I had one that went bad when they first came out and they sent me a new filter from Marineland. The cannister started leaking and it was a defect in the early models. Hope yours is ok. The replacement worked fine.
All went well cutting the hoses last night, with only a little leakage. But I will definitely keep an eye on the filter since you said that.
Oh, and last night when I was cleaning up a bit, I found the DVD they included with the detailed instructions.
That could have saved me some time! My bad.

Brian - thanks! Glad you like it. Don't get rid of your Geos, though!
Just put some plants in that tank!
Kevin - Thank you! I think the wood would look a lot better breaking out if the lights were overhanging, and not sitting on top of the tank. I've never had a rimless before, so that didn't even cross my mind.
Maybe buying a hanging kit is in my future.

Yup, it's ADG's prototype tank.Originally posted by screename View PostActually, its not an ADA tank. Its a custom ADG tank she won a year or two ago.
Anyways, take looks like is off to a good start. I like that you used africana instead of the regular AS. Cant wait to see it fill in.
PS...... I told you that you would win C=
I need to make sure of the manufacturer, but ADG got it custom made and is planning on making more in the future.
Thank you, Vanson! I really like the Africana, but it's new to me, so I'm not sure how it does long-term, but it's ADA, so I'm not too worried.
I know you told me I'd win! I tell that to people all the time! It was so freaky!

Yup! Still need to set it up that way, but the plan is to turn on the actinic and pink light first, and then the 6700K and 10K about half an hour later. Then at night, turn off the 67K and 10K and leave the actinic and pink on for another 30 minutes.Originally posted by cichlid1409 View Postare you going to, or can you, set the light up so they come on at different times of the day and get a morning /mid-day/evening effect?
I haven't put a timer on it yet, and that's why the stand cover's not on. Currently, the tank is running off of a surge protector connected to the 300g next to it. :)

Good choice with letting the wood come out of the tank. I like breaking that extra space to leat the eye out of the tank, looks more natural

Just turned off the lights for tonight. It's cleared up a bit.
Took some pictures of the different light settings.
All 4:

6700K and 10,000K:

Actinic and Plant Bulb:

All the pretty colors:

The pictures make it look a lot more blue than it looks in real life, BTW.
Thanks for all the nice comments, everyone. I appreciate it!!
