man, i want to go catch some fishes now. are there any law against nesting them in? any good place for fresh water small fishes?

Nice, I've found a few that big in Sugar Land. Beautiful guys, ultimately too territorial for my tastes. If I had to go with a single species native tank I'd pick longears before cichlids.

No I didn't keep him. There are 5+ pairs just along the bank of the pond. I'm going to go back at some point and get pairs. I feel kinda bad splitting up pairs. Did a bit of googling, and haven't found any pics with a hump that big. When I first saw them swimming around, I thought it was a flowerhorn. I've never seen another fish with a head hump that large.

Found this guy in galveston

Found this guy at a pond in Galveston. There were at least 5 pair this size. This is just one I pulled out with a cast net. Pretty good size for a Texas Cichlid.Tags: None
