That looks like a female to me or a young plakat....

As for your cup what you want is a half cup not a circle half......basically, looking into the cup cut it in half. Then put it in a corner and tap it against the glass, what I did was put the open face towards the front so that you can see in there easier.

Also try saran wrapping the top so that the humidity is high in there, it helps the bubble from breaking(reason for the cup). Oh, and once they finish you should get the food cultures going for the fry.
