Contrary to popular belief, not everything is directed to you, ek.

Nacra99 did post pics of his dead shrimp; you are correct, mahoro.

Back to Raul's snails... they look.... interesting 8)

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Hahahhaha.....figured it was to both of us since he quoted both me and nacra instead of directing it to nacra himself.

Yes, they do look interesting. I'd like to see what they look like when you get them, Raul.

TPWD has a page on what's illegal and what's legal:

              "Applesnails and Giant Ram's-horn Snails
All genera and species of the Family Ampullariidae (previously called Pilidae) including Pomacea and Marisa, except spiketop applesnail (Pomacea bridgesii)

              Channeled Applesnail, Family Ampullariidae
              Pomacea canaliculata "

Pretty sure these aren't illegal...yet. But from what I've read about them from others that have them, they have pretty large eggs that's don't contain too many babies, and therefore don't breed as quickly as other snails we are familiar with. But who knows.  :)

Nacra99, Im sorry that you lost your money.  You can file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to help others know about what happened to you.  I am currently trying to get a refund from planet inverts.  My potential $400 loss is nothing I am happy about.  BUT, I still have 15 days until the paypal deadline for filing a complaint is up.  I REALLY just want my money back.

but let's not hijack Raul's thread.

                        Hey Raul,
I received my package today also. There was $600 worth of dead shrimp (i'll save the rant for another thread) and these surprise thinggies.....

I didn't order any snails, so i guess they were freebies or he got the order wrong.
Did you get any shrimp too? Did they arrive okay?

Re: Bright Yellow Skinned Sulawesi Snails

                          I'm acclimating right now.

Only a third of the shrimp survived.  All the snails seem to be ok.

I just got off the phone with Ryan.  I'll see what happens.  He assured me he would replace the ones I lost.  He has to get another shipment in first.

                          I'll post pics later tonight.

Re: Bright Yellow Skinned Sulawesi Snails

Well, I tried to take some pics before I left back for work, but either I don't know how or my Sony camera isn't capable of taking close up shots of things smaller than an inch or so.  I need someone like Jesper or Tracie to take some good pics.  Honestly though,  when I left they looked really sharp...just like the pics on PlanetInverts.

I'll know in the next 48 hours if they all make it.  The snails are wicked.

Yes, I'm upset with the DOAs but it wasn't a total loss.  I feel for those who had a total loss.

If Ryan does me alright in replacing the DOAs then I will do business with him again.
