    That's it!

Also he is close friends with NASH so that might entitle a bit of a discount or at least better pick of stock.

I have bought from Ryan at PlanetInverts.com as well so I can suggest him.

My Uncle use to run a shrimp boat.....

We would go fishing the day he would come in from the gulf and the stuff would usually still be alive....there were lots of awesome stuff like giant conchs and stuff....buffalo shrimp sounds good right now.

Why spend more money on shrimp if the ones you had keep dying on you.

Are you sure copper was never introduced to the tank in the past or maybe on some plants or decor moved in from another tank?  If you are doing nothing different than the other tanks, I would swap out the tank for forego putting shrimp in there.

You could take everything out and just put a few RCS with some moss and see of they live longer or die like the rest.

              Re: Can't Keep Shrimp...?

Well before i see about add any shrimp into that cube again,
I will be testing for copper. I've never med the tank or anything
else other than ADA ferts. I'll take the advice and cut back on co2
this next time around and maybe add a airstone that could come on durring the night.

another piece of advice I got was adding a very little amount (1/8 dose)
Seachem Iodine. I've read that in very small doses shrimp love to thrive.
              Any thoughts?

                Stop with the iodine.

IMO that is probably your problem right there....iodine is helpful to inverts as well as other organisms but the stuff will accumulate in the waters and become poisonous. You should not be adding it if you are not testing for it IMO.

Your ferts are fine as well as your CO2.....In my tanks I have always ran super high light which would force me to run the co2 at a higher rate as well as bumping my fert regime higher to keep up with the plants and never had a single problem keeping shrimp. Also I felt that running my co2 24/7 kept the water parameters more stable especially when using Houston tap water.

Stop dosing the Iodine and try again.

The iodine was a suggestion, I am not using it.
And I agree on the co2 matter more/less. In two of my tanks I run it
24/7 to keep the PH balance in check.

If you want to do some testing - this may sound mean, but go on a little fishing trip and catch some wild ghost shrimp.  I caught several at Luce's Bayou on FM2100 this past weekend.  That may be a bit out of the way for you (Far Northeast), but it's an option that you could turn into a fun adventure.  The shrimp seem fairly hardy - I dumped all the critters I caught into a tank together - various minnows, two unknown types, a mussel, the shrimp and a couple of tadpoles.  Also added some green Cabomba that was growing there too.  So far no casualties.

Who says you can`t have it all??!!

                          Does sound fun.
I've been meaning to go out on my own little adventure and such.

I could not keep shrimp alive for any length of time until I unplugged the heater in their tank.   Also, I keep mine with corys, bristlenose, endlers and tetras.  You have to be very careful what kind of tank mates they have.

                              Indeed!
I made that mistake a while back. Had
a ten gal w/ CRS and a blue Gourami. And after a
while they keep missing one by one and I couldn't fig it out.
Till I read that Gouramis will eat them...

I don't know what your temp is in your tank, but I really think that mine did not do well because I put them in a heated tank and then I read that they prefer cooler temps and I have no problems keeping them since I started keeping them in an unheated tank.
