says midtown heights (so maybe in the loop near my office)...probably worth a text to see what he has available.
i mean for that price i can get a colony started much easier, and not worry about shipping. even the neon yellows you dont see too often around the stores.

haha yeah for sure. i went to captain tom's last week for some oysters, shrimp and catfish. tried my first michelada. good timesOriginally posted by ptran View PostDang, if I have $10 to blow, I will buy some jumbo gulf shrimps and steam them with beer.
i did see someone in the market place advertise blue velvets at 10 for $25....which is dirt cheap if they are blue velvets...but they only have like 8 posts in 4 years. not sure i want to go that route.
there is always a risk buying from anyone, but i prefer people who are regulars or i have met. if not a reputable store

i checked out the blue velvet shrimp at fish gallery yesterday. a little small, so were only pale blue and couldnt tell adult color. they also had orange velvet (which might be orange sakura) which were pretty vibrant...just on the expensive end. asking $10 each or 3 for $27 for both types
the online vendors appear to be cheaper. elite inverts has a good selection, but says they only ship if destination is between 32F and 80F...so with it being 100F here thats out. i assume similar laws for other vendors in terms of DOA guarantee.
maybe shop around a bit more or change my mind on the shrimp type i getLast edited by morpheus; 08-11-2015, 08:26 AM.

Yip, that's their plan to hook you up. The guy worked there gave me a couple extra rcs when I bought 5 last time.

I actually got 1 rcs from them on accident, but he died 2 days later. No one ate him in the tank and he seemed active, so I'm not totally sure what happened. I wasn't really ready for shrimp yet, but it did make me want to get more... That was probably their plan all along!

I almost got a couple but not sure how they would do as I keep my tank pretty sanitary, I heard they need plenty of stuff in the water column to eat.

Yeah I seen them last time I was there. Did you ever see the wood shrimp/bamboo shrimp they had? Really neat little guys. I didn't see them though last week.
