Brighter White?

Is there a way I can make the white in my CRS brighter? Some of them seem a little opaque where the white is.

I thought opaque was what you need in a show quality shrimp? Do you mean translucent?

water stays at a pretty steady 72°
it's only 1, or 2 that seem like this.

Sometimes calcium deficits can cause this, or diet. Do you test your water hardness? Do you have any softening agents, or use RO/DI?

i don't test for hardness. i use tap water (treated), no softening that i know of, and feed a variety of jake's foods (including veggie sticks w/calcium)

This. Also the tap water in Houston has high TDS. That could also be causing their shells to turn translucent. A lot of people use RO water with Bee Shrimp GH+ (I think that's what it's called?). Jake's veggie sticks with calcium would work well for them. There's also other specific Bee shrimp foods that are especially for making their shell more opaque or making the red pop more, etc. Check out Benibachi foods, etc. There's a long list of foods that you could try. H4N from TPT forum has tons of name brand foods available and he even sells little packs as samples.
