the store in Cali has the 30g bag for $26 she does not know how much shipping would be but i take it he can send it on a priority flat box and fit about 4-6 bags for about $8 of shipping.

i tried to find wonder shells last night because it dawned on me that my assassins may be chewing on each others shells for calcium. i couldnt find them locally although www.americanaquarium products.com has them. very informative site too. i threw some tums in there instead until i find the shells. petsmart sells a vitamin pyramid that has calcium but also copper.

If you are just looking for a source of calcium you can use reef products.

i usually use CaNO3 from the hydroponics store but a bottle of excel spilled into and made it into a rock. CaCO3 is probably a better choice if you are worried about nitrates. i will look into reef products but i dont want anything with salts added unless its trace minerals. i have read that the wonder shells dissolve as needed so they are a good indicator of deficiencies in the tank but i am not sure how true that could be.
