I've had several people ask me to share my 'secret' for keeping sulawesi shrimps and snails. Here's my secret: there isn't one. This is a 40g breeder with Leslies Pool Filter sand as a substrate and rocks from the front yards around the neighborhood for the shrimp to climb on/ for algae to grow on. I have cardinal shrimp and yellow rabbit snails in the tank.

Filtration: Eheim 2217 with a large sponge prefilter
Lighting: Coralife 2x36" T5 on for ~10 hours a day
Flora: Anubias and hornwort -- Anubius seems to be the only plants that the snails don't eat. The hornwort is floating to suck up excess nutrients.
I keep the tank at 80-82F. I do 15-25% WC weekly. I feed a wide variety of foods sparingly. NLS wafers, spirulina flake, shrimp pellets (yeah ... I said it), spinach, romaine lettuce, and NLS 1mm pellets.
