thats exactly what it is.  i was told that keeping a salt container in the tank would help prevent parasites.  i've been using them in my African Cichlid tank for about a year now and so far so good.  any reason that might be a bad idea??? oh, and thank you 'myjohnson' for the tip.  i'll try that.

i dont think its a bad idea. i just havent seen to many people do it. i dont think it could hurt :)  i add salt to my african tank.

btw, how do you like your tetra ex filters?
i just recently got a tetra ex45 for my 10g planted tank, and i am very impressed.
i sorta gave up on tetra filters, do to some bad experiences with the old whisper series.
but i decided to give them a second chance, in the hopes that they improved them, and i am very very impressed with them overall, but want to see how they do on a larger tank.
i might get 2x of the ex70's for my 75g if i hear some good reviews :)

so far they've been fine. i'm gonna put another 70 on there as soon as i get paid and get rid of the 30.  my brother uses them also....i think.  got some new pics of my african tank.

Man, them burundis are cool! They will get the biggest hump than any other front or gib.

I had some when I got back into fish keeping. The thing I like most was watching them hunt feeder fishes.

Got the big blue guy from the latest auction out in pasadena.  only cost me 17 bucks, and "Stoney" over there was a gift from my brother (newb)


My beautiful baby gold severum.  Probably about to switch him to another tank so as not to get picked on.


This little guy was a trade in from my last tank.  Got rid of a Paradise Guarami for him.  I think it was a good trade....

nice burundi, if  you are into fronts you should venture into cyphos.com.
good threads about raising and keeping fronts. I have kept them for 3 years now and i can tell you they will out grow the 55 in no time. That will also keep aggression high with limited tank space for them. Becareful because it is very easy to go throwing 1000.xx of dollars at moba's trying to get the bluest fronts there are. although you may have more self control than i did.
