Sounds like the calm before the storm.

I have two backup generators that are fully charged and a couple of the battery air pumps.  I dont know how long everything would last so hopefully if we do lose power its not for too long.

Alittle rain my way would be great.    Forget the rest.   Just not interested.

They are predicting 10" of rain and 4' storm surge.....
aren't you glad you chose that 2nd floor apartment.
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

The storm won't be here until tomorrow.  I'm ready, I have a full tank of gas, batteries, beer, other assorted adult beverages and plenty of ice.

They are expecting Galveston to start having high winds later today, or so they said on the noon weather forecast.  Are you on the West End of Galveston? If so, they are saying to watch the tides so you don't get stuck there when the roads go underwater.

                          Re: Storm Coming

That depends on where you are when it hits.  A cat 1 will cause a lot of flooding and the winds associated will cause power outages.  I always believe in better safe than sorry.  I would love to have all this stuff ready to go and not have to use it.

Do you remember Allision?   Allison was only a tropical storm as well and caused extensive damage, even here further in from the coast.

At least i'll have i-tunes. (until my laptop battery runs out).

I know this is odd, but when I'm stressed out, I watch that movie they play at the IMAX called "Deep Sea"...I'm sure that most of yall have seen it.
It just relaxes me. It was a POOP to find on DVD.
