Bio media. Matrix is my go to bio media, but you could use ceramic rings or whatever else you want. Purigen and carbon are water polishers. I'd only use carbon to remove any chemicals you've added to the tank. Purigen is an amazing water polisher and is rechargeable.

So just use a sponge to grab the nasty and use bio media and some purigen.

Aqueon 30 gallon breeders? They don't make them anymore. Phased out by 40 gallon breeders

Or just get a 55 gallon tank, keep the water low or use plexiglass and build up from the base to the desired level
