Acaras and firemouth would probably work but I sometimes approach this delightful problem another way. I would just leave the tank as it is for a little while and just keep looking at different ideas. See, once you fill up the tank you might come across something you really want and have no room left in the tank. So you don't have to be in a hurry to fill up the tank. Go to the auction on Sunday and see what fish are there.

Hatchet arent very appealing to me. Would angels fit ok with my tank inhabitants?

Allright guys I have now the 2 red severum, 11 serpae tetra and 5 geo tapajos. The geos are definately the best addition, theyre so active and fun to watch. Only issue as there is really not much activity at the top of the tank. Even the tetras swim mid to bottom of the tank looking for food usually with the geos. What other fish do you think help fill out the tank? Would angels work?

    Thanks guys

You might want to wait until your tank is fully cycled. You are almost there. I don't remember how it goes but something like this. Ammonia will spike, then nitrites and then nitrates as the bacteria grows and begins handling the ammonia. But I would wait until you know the tank is fully cycled. Don't take a chance with more fish until you know the cycle is stable. Now if you decide to set up another tank later it will be easier. You just run the new filter on the already cycled tank for a week or so, then use some water from the cycled tank in the new tank and you have instant cycled tank.

keep monitoring the params daily and do WC as necessary. first time with fish in the tank, you will get spikes. severums are a little more sensitive and do take time to adjust to their new home.

the type of lights should not make a difference, its probably more so the stress from the move and getting used to things.

did a water change after i posted, he got curious and and swam around to see whats going on but hes back to sitting in the corner.

could the lights be affecting them? I have led lights on the tank and now that they are off they are moving about.
