Extended Time in Plastic Cooler

Anyone have any thoughts on keeping fish in an igloo cooler for extended periods of time? I want to redo my aquascaping. I have an abundance of igloo coolers. If I buy another aquarium, I think I'll be handed divorce papers soon after

I've keep fish in a giant bucket for a about 2 weeks just do water changes and stick a filter on it

Yep got some fish from one of the guys on here who had them in a cooler for quite some time.

hehe... I remember putting a catfish in the tub so my dad could fillet it after work.

My biggest concern was chemicals leaching off the plastic in the cooler.

There shouldn't be any chemicals leeching from the plastic unless you've previously put chemicals in there. Also shouldn't be a problem with fish in an igloo. I kept 2 5" plecos and 2 4-5" catfish in a 5gal bucket for about a month. Treat it like a tank and make sure to not overfeed.

Coolers are safe. I ship environmentally sensitive samples in them all the time and there is no cross interference.
