    a wet dry would dfinately help with bio load, since that is primarily what it is, i mean you can add a spong and carbon to that too, but its mostly a place for beneficial bacteria to grow, and yeah like M said more water changes are never bad ( I just try to find the least work heavy technique)

      Separate tank for the turtles is the best thing you can do for that arowana.

      How big of a water change do you do?


      Maybe the last few post should be moved out of Walter's thread MB?

            Add a bucket of duck weed. It'll use up the neutriants in the watter and provide lunch for your turtle.

              Are you seriou, PhishPhreek? Or the remained leaves will be everywhere, and cause blockage inside my inflow tube?

                Duckweed is super invasive.

                I tried using some in my tank and it got everywhere. Also to fix the problem is better then to cover it up.

                If for any reason the duckweed dies that will add to your problems.

                  Plan A failed (buying a Wet/Dry filter). Now is Plan B, but I just don't know where to find a cheap tank for turtle now.

                      I talked to Petco the other day and asked them when the $1/Gallon tank sale was coming back and he said look for it in January or February.
                      I have a 40G breeder Reptile tank that I need to convert to a regular tank and this is what I am waiting for.  (It has a slider hood on top for a mesh screen)
                      After I get that tank, then this one will be available for sale/trade.

                        Thanks guy for the information. However, I don't like the $1/1gal sale b/c it does not come with stand. I agree that tank is priority, but IMO, a deluxe wooden stand is also priority.

                            How much time it took you for a single stand on average (50gal), and how much the part cost? Are you interested if I want to order 1?
