  • Ich Treatment?

I believe I finally have my first case if ich, guess that's what I get for being lazy and not quarantining. Added 10 neon tetras and a golden gourami to my 20gal about a week ago - one tetra lasted a couple days, then I found a floater this afternoon. One of the tetras has white spots and is gasping; so far the rest of the tetras, the gourami, and the existing five cory cats don't seem to have any symptoms.

What's the recommended course of treatment from everyone's experience? I've got the above fish plus some anacharis in the tank. I know about raising the temp (I could also use recommendations on heaters, I've been doing without since my last one crapped out on me), but should I go with aquarium salt or a chemical treatment?

My friend used human meds such as amoxicillin. He crushed up one tab in a 10g or 20g I forget
