I have a 55g with a Eheim 2217 with a spray bar(leftside)spraying from the back to the front and a penguin 150 is on the right side. Is this too much water current for anglefish?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    I wouldn't think so.

In the past I have kept angels in a 20g with a 2217 so I imagine your set up will be fine. I would probably position the spray bar on the left side glass and have it point fro Left --> Right to lessen the "push" if it's too much for them right now.

It shouldn't be I have two 2217s on a 56 gallon and it isn't that much current. My little puffers do fine in the current I am assuming angels are stronger swimmers

i think angels might have more drag than a little puffer lol. the angels in my 75 seems to stay away from the higher flow areas of the tank. i experiment with different setups alot and i am currently running a set of vertical spraybars in the back two corners whichare pointed to spray against the glass in a clockwise pattern. the water rotates around the glass at a higher speed but the water in the center of the tank is much more calm. i havent tried this in a 12" wide tank so i cant say if thats too narrow for this effect. i think that any time you can create different gradients of flow, temperature, lighting, etc in a habitat that it is worth the effort since the animals can then choose where they want to be.
