I know why a tank SHOULD be drilled Nick, I have a drilled tank. I wanted to know from everyone who said "oh no one will buy a drilled ADA from you" and "oh no don't drill an ADA tank" why they did NOT want an ADA tank to be drilled. All bleeding stops eventually...

It's not a new tank it is used... If it gets messed up then that is life. We will have a party and put some 45acp holes in it lolOriginally posted by ssrprelude View PostThis isn't a 10 gallon tank. I'm not being negitive at all. If you have $700 to buy a new one do it to it.

I actually gave it to my 7 year old (Connor) after he kept bugging me about wanting to have his own planted tank I let him run with it. This is what it looked like as of 04-09-12:Originally posted by aquabee View PostHey, any shots of it up n running?

side view:

It is still growing out. Connor has been hacking away at it trying to develop/improve his trimming skills. I'm supposed to be getting some plants this weekend to fill in the sides the center and replace the Rotala macrandra "Narrow Leaf" in the rear so he can finally concentrate on just growing the plants out and getting the final scape together.Last edited by Dan; 05-01-2012, 01:43 PM.

I don't know about that but he's been doing this for about 2 years now. He is always looking to do "something" to the aquarium. I was looking forward to running a small cichlid tank but I caved and gave it to him.Originally posted by sunkenmetal View PostDan your 7 year old is better at this than most of us lol
Thanks, I'll let him know.Originally posted by aquabee View PostThanks for the pics Dan! It's gorgeous. I didn't even have my own tank til I was 9. Nice job Connor!
sunkenmetal, sorry for the thread jack... I just wanted to post that drilling an ADA tank has been done and is possible without any side affects

The tank from the link above has three holes on each side of the tank similar to your placement of the holes you're interested in drilling in your tank. Hope the pictures help you out in making a decision. It can be done, you just have to plan it out and make sure you are happy with the placement of the holes. Once drilled there is no going back.
