I test my tap water for ammonia before water change. If ammonia shows up I recharge my water softener overnight and do a water change the next day. I know you don't have a softener but you will how much crap is in your water and can treat as needed

One day I'll have a carbon bottle. For now, I always double dose Amquel Plus or Prime during a water change. And I always have salt and Stability on hand, 2 things I'll never be without.Originally posted by eklikewhoa View Postsi ma.
