  • Working on my 55.....slowly

So I bought a 55 about 2 years ago and never did much with it. I had a few fish and plants but nothing special. As you can see the tank is pretty plain right now. Some family members were fishing in Lake Livingston and found this piece of wood several months ago. I soaked the piece in the tank for about a month and then pressure washed it. Last week I bought the pool filter sand. You can see the water still has a little haze but it gets better every day.

The haze should settle as your tank matures, but for water clarity, Purigen really is the best!

Yeah, can't lose with Purigen. I'd add a few rocks to accent the wood.

Any suggestions on the rock? I saw some petrified wood the other day but I wasn't sure about the way it would look.

Petrified wood is nice. You could also try some black star and green canyon rock, or moon/river rock if you like a softer feel

Not certain what fish I want yet. Right now I took some out of the 33 in hopes that my mollies would breed with the extra space. Originally I wanted to put discus but I'm not sure now.
